Arrival and light check
The kit is set up next to the best window in the room, with a daylight panel for the hours before sunrise. We agree where you will sit so the photographer has somewhere to stand.
Spring 2027 dates open
Trials are running from January, and we hold two wedding mornings per weekend.

Firstlight Works is a travelling makeup studio for wedding mornings. You get a written call sheet, a kit matched to your light, and an artist who stays until the first look is photographed.
The morning plan
Most bridal stress is scheduling, not makeup. Two weeks out you receive a call sheet like the one below, built backwards from the moment your photographer needs you ready.
The kit is set up next to the best window in the room, with a daylight panel for the hours before sunrise. We agree where you will sit so the photographer has somewhere to stand.
Cleanse, hydrate, then a base chosen in your trial and adjusted for the forecast. Humid day, lighter layers and more setting. Cold and dry, more balm and less powder.
The agreed look, applied in the order that photographs best: eyes first so any fallout is cleaned before the base is finished, lips last so they stay sharp for the ceremony.
Bridesmaids, mothers and anyone else on your list, in the order you choose. Whoever is dressing first goes first, and the running order is printed on the call sheet.
Blot, re-set, fix the lip after the dress goes over your head, and stay for the first photographs. You keep a small touch-up pouch mixed in your shades for the rest of the day.
If the day shiftsCeremonies move. Hair runs late. The schedule is rebuilt on the spot and the whole room is told the new order, so nobody is guessing when it is their turn.
What's included
Compare the three bookings before you enquire, then tell us which one fits. Everything listed is confirmed in writing when your date is held.

Lashes, brow shaping and a second look for the evening can be added to any booking. Hair is not covered in house, but we work to your stylist's timings and share the call sheet with them.
Looks
Your venue decides more than your dress does. These are the three finishes we build from, adjusted in the trial once we know where you will be standing at the ceremony.
Sheer base, cream blush and a soft lash. Reads fresh in open daylight and will not look heavy in close photographs taken in full sun.
Fuller coverage with controlled shine, a deeper liner and a stained lip. Built for flash photography and long indoor ceremonies.
A deeper eye and stronger lip layered over the morning base after dinner, so the change takes fifteen minutes instead of a full reset.
It has to survive the hug.
Every choice in the kit is tested against the real day: the heat, the crying, the veil going on twice and the hundred photographs nobody warned you about.
Prep & questions
Three things worth doing in the month before, and the questions brides actually send us.
Finish any new treatment or strong active four weeks out. Settled skin takes makeup far better than freshly treated skin.
Take pictures of the trial outdoors and indoors on your own phone. Screens and venues are what you will actually judge the look against.
Share your photographer's start time and the hair schedule as soon as they exist, even if they are provisional. The call sheet is built from those two numbers.
Six to ten weeks before the wedding. Early enough to change direction and order anything specific, late enough that your skin, hair colour and tan are close to the day.
The base plan changes, not the look. Humid mornings get thinner layers, more setting through the day and a pouch with blotting paper instead of powder, so the finish stays even rather than going patchy.
Yes, and that is the main constraint on the kit. Nothing with a strong light-reflecting finish goes near the areas a flash hits, and coverage is matched to whether your photographer is shooting in daylight or with flash indoors.
Tell us at enquiry and bring the product you already trust to the trial. We patch a swatch on the jaw during the trial and keep a fragrance-free, latex-free set of products for the morning.
We travel to the room where you are getting ready. Anything beyond a ninety-minute drive moves the arrival earlier rather than compressing the schedule, and the earlier start is confirmed before you book.
Up to five extra faces, as long as we know two weeks before the date so the running order and the second artist can be arranged. After that we can usually still help, but the morning starts earlier.
